Development Engineer - North Sydney Council

Salary from $65,827 to $78,600 pa, plus Car or $7,500 offset allowance, plus 9% Super, plus $2,000 transport allowance if no pool car taken

This position will be responsible for providing technical support to Council’s Development Assessment process. The role will include approval and inspection of civil engineering works, follow up of regulatory issues and associated administrative duties. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain experience in the development control processes of a busy inner city area and be involved in the resolution of complex engineering issues.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential
• Completion of tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Current Class 1A Driver's License.
• Experience in civil engineering or the assessment of development applications and construction certificates.
• Knowledge of the Local Government Act, Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and related legislation.
• Demonstrated report writing skills and effective oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated mediation, negotiation, and customer service and team skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Computer skills – Word 2000, Excel
