Head Chef - Delaware North Companies Australia

Delaware North is proud to be offering a fantastic opportunity for motivated and experienced chef to join the El Questro team for our 2011 season.

El Questro Wilderness Park is located in the spectacular Kimberley Ranges, one of the Australia’s most challenging and awe-inspiring regions, with the amazing backdrop of the Cockburn Rangers, west of Kununurra, WA, and has a great energetic and friendly working environment to match.

Our Restaurant at the Station Township provide our guests with a unique and restoring dining experience that embodies the Resort's immersion in nature with comfort in mind. We offer fresh and creative contemporary cuisine, for up to 120 guests looking for a wilderness experience.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will have experience at Head Chef level, at a 4-5 star property or commended restaurant. This could also be an amazing opportunity for an experienced and established Sous chef looking for the opportunity to manage their own team. You will hold all relevant trade, food, safety and hygiene certificates.

You will be passionate about food and have:
•    excellent skills in creating, implementing, and costing menus;
•    the skills to manage food and labour costs, and overall profitability;
•    computer literacy and is conversant with the Microsoft suite of programs;
•    good communication skills, and the ability to negotiate with suppliers;
•    excellent service standards, with strong guest focus.

El Questro Wilderness Park is 1.5 hours from Kununurra in outback WA. Most supplies arrive by weekly truck, supplemented by 4wd journeys for emergency produce.
