IT Desktop Support / Helpdesk Officer - Private AdvertiserHeadquartered in the UK, A-Gas International Holdings Limited are the leading independent global specialist blender, re-packer and distributor of specialty gases and chemicals to the refrigeration and insulation foam industries, primarily focusing on environmentally acceptable replacement products for chlorofluorocarbon (“CFC”) gases and liquids. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our innovative Australian team and harness your IT technical expertise and provide exceptional desktop support. We are seeking a technical savvy and experienced IT desktop Support/Helpdesk Officer to join our IT team based in Melbourne at Head Office – Laverton North to provide support and assistance across our business nationally & Asia. As the IT Desktop Support/Helpdesk Officer you will be the first level of contact and support to the business for IT related matters and be responsible for the first level support to IT users. You will work closely with a cross functional team that will support and build the company vision. You will be required to engage in a cross-functional environment to ensure the successful implementation of these strategies for the attainment of financial and business objectives. Reporting to the IT Director and working with a dedicated team you will be responsible for: • Providing quality support to staff seeking assistance with software, mobile phones, laptops, desktop computers and service-related problems • First point of contact for all support calls escalating when required for desktop, network support and helpdesk to our staff and clients • Manage and be familiar with audio and visual communication and training equipment • Take full responsibility for the desktop portion of the work environment • Create and maintain effective documentation on the management and support of the Service desk function and undertake the reporting of the Service desk performance measures and indicators against service targets • Develop and effectively maintain all necessary registers and logs • Maintain daily backup tape cycles • Troubleshoot all laptop/desktop issues, including remote access and wireless connectivity • Set up and maintain all iPhones/LAN phones/other communication devices, network printers/MFD/faxes, USB mobile Broadband Devices, and laptops/desktops • Train and periodically re-train staff on applications • Preparation of all IT services and equipment for new employees • Troubleshoot applications • Administer and maintain helpdesk software • Support the Network/System Contractors • Effectively maintain all IT equipment records • Work closely with key stakeholders and staff to provide exceptional service and support; and ensure strong client relationships are maintained. To be considered for this position, you must address the following key criteria; • Minimum of at least 2 yrs experience providing high volume levels of IT support or similar gained from in a medium to large organisation • Tertiary qualifications with a major in Computing or Information Systems or a related discipline would be well regarded • Demonstrated Microsoft SQL experience would be desirable • Demonstrated achievement in providing IT service to large volumes of staff and clients in a Service Desk environment • Proven abilities to problem solve and troubleshoot whilst working autonomously • Demonstrable and proven excellent level of customer service to all staff • Well developed written and communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff • Demonstrated technical knowledge of Networks, Desktop equipment, applications and their management to meet customer and business needs • High level of personal motivation and determination to succeed.
