Junior Web Application Developer - Qwoff Pty LtdQwoff is looking for a junior web developer to support a growing digital team in their plans for world domination. Us. Qwoff is an innovative development studio with a focus on building the next generation community, media and ecommerce platforms with Ruby on Rails and HTML5. You'll be joining a passionate, hard-working and fun team and will be encouraged to contribute to the continuing success and growth of the company. You. • Driven by the want to build better stuff than anyone else, before anyone else. • Love Ruby & Ruby on Rails (or at least understands what OO and MVC are). • Are comfortable talking about the difference between XHTML and HTML5, and know where CSS3 fits, and can apply that knowledge efficiently and elegantly. • Know there's more to JavaScript than jQuery and can explain the difference between MySQL and NoSQL. • Embrace Git, Continuous Integration, TDD or BDD, yet isn't scared of Photoshop either. • Live in an open source or Unix based world and are utterly at home on a command line. • Read TechCrunch, Read/Write Web, 37 Signals and/or Gary Vaynerchuk. • Can diagnose, investigate and document issues and suggest innovative solutions to developers and non-technical people. • Have an interest in iOS or Android development. • Should be able to talk for five minutes about your favourite album, sport, book or film. • Are interested by terms like “machine learning”, “geospatial analysis” and “data mining” or at least have Google’d them. Motivated and inquisitive is much more important than qualified or experienced, but your salary will reflect our appreciation of your talents, and somewhere between $40,000 and $50,000 p/a (incl. 9% superannuation).
