PATCH MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATOR
A top Gold Coast employer, is urgently seeking a permanent Patch Management Administrator. Purpose of Position: Develop and maintain the required levels of patch management to help ensure Information Services SLAs are met, more specifically: • Coordinate patch management activities for Information Services. This includes patch management for server, messaging, storage and backup environments (including Microsoft, Unix, Netware and Citrix operating systems), storage arrays, server infrastructure including firmware and related patching requirements, ICT Security (firewall, proxy), Network Services (Cisco routers, switches), End-user devices and Nominated Applications (e.g. BIOS, Operating Systems, core software). • Ensure Change Management requirements are met, including the coordination of testing. • Monitor vendor databases for patch updates. • Keep informed regarding advances in patch management technologies and assist in any implementation. • Provide assistance for budget estimations as required. • Maintain internal Information Services audit requirements. Keep Information Services items updated in audit database. Liaison with internal auditors as required. • Report on patch management to Supervisors and Executive Coordinator. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: • Relevant tertiary / computer qualifications and/or significant demonstrable patch management experience for servers; appliances, security, desktop and network devices. • It is highly desirable that the candidate has extensive knowledge of patch deployment methodology/application. Also knowledge of the SAP Solution Manager product. • Previous experience in an audit liaison role, compiling reports on audit compliance. • Demonstrated ability to select and exercise an appropriate range of analytical, problem solving and investigative skills/techniques as required by each situation, including demonstrated experience in evaluating and recommending effective patch management. • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of consultation, negotiation, influencing, conflict management and assertiveness in order to resolve organizational issues and meet changing organizational needs relevant to patch management. • Experience and / or Certification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and in particular demonstrated change management skills. Qualifications or experience in regards to SAP E2E Change Control Management would be beneficial.
