Sous Chef - Artarmon - Flavours Catering and Events


Great opportunity for a qualified sous chef to work with one of Sydney’s finest Corporate Caterers.

Essential requirements

•    Minimum 10 years' experience
•    Experience in catering and off site events
•    Written references
•    Organisational ability including time management, task prioritisation and resource scheduling
•    Flexibility
•    Well presented, motivated, hardworking and honest
•    Good communication skills a must
•    Passion for great food

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, dedicated and reliable Sous Chef; required to assist at our kitchen in Artarmon and at offsite events.   Our ideal applicant must have experience in catering at offsite events and high volume catering operations

Whilst reporting to the Executive Chef your responsibilities will include:

•         Prepping the event at our kitchen, then going offsite to complete the event.
•         Food & stock quality control and assurance
•         Managing and supervising kitchen staff members
•         Working hands-on cooking from our extensive corporate & catering event menus
•         Assist with the training & mentoring of staff and apprentice cooks
•         Follow and assist in the daily running of the Food Safety Plan in accordance to the NSW Food Safety & Hygiene laws and regulations
•         Ensuring quality standards are consistently met

Hours: 6am starts 50 hours per week

Days:  Tuesday through to Saturday, occasional night shift at events, dependent on event scheduling

Our events include mainly cocktail parties although your assistance would also be required at BBQ's, sit downs and buffets.

We also provide catering platters including sandwiches, finger food, salads and morning + afternoon tea to businesses in Sydney metro area.

Remuneration: An attractive remuneration will be negotiated based on previous experience and your ability to perform.
