WEB DESIGNER / DEVELOPER - Gateway Graphics


Gateway Graphics is seeking a full time web developer who can let their creative flair shine through in the websites they help create.

This position would suit a web designer with commercial experience who is available to start immediately. 

We are willing to look at recent graduates or junior web developers that can show talent and skill.

On a daily basis this role will see you reporting directly to the Development Team Leader the key responsibilities include:

• Design and develop websites, interfacing with the back-end databases, based on the requirements and scope of work. 
• Design a variety of interactive marketing tools, email campaigns, landing pages and micro sites, HTML e-mail communications and other creative projects. 
• Manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactively communicate progress of work to the relevant stakeholders.
• Work closely with other departments to streamline their processes, by automating manual data and reporting systems.
• Research and assess new standards, technologies and trends. Recommend strategies to enhance web sites. 

The successful candidate will be Diploma qualified in a related field (Web Design, Graphics Design, Multimedia).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must as there will be daily communication between the team and all levels of staff and management.

This role requires a passion for web design and learning new skills, prioritisation skills and the ability to operate in a team focused environment. 

The ideal applicant will have at least 1 year experience in some or all of the following:

• Front End Web Development
• Strong interface design and typography skills
• XHTML
• CSS3
• Adobe Creative Suites (CS5)
• JavaScript Frameworks (JQuery, Prototype, Spry)
• DOM to manipulate forms, content and layout
• Experience in one or more of the content management systems "Wordpress", "Drupal", "Joomla"
• Working knowledge of server-side technologies ASP, .NET, PHP
• Working knowledge of Windows, Mac and Linux based operating systems
• Designs within web standards, accessibility and semantic guidelines (W3C)
• Confidence to meet clients face to face
• Excellent time management skills.
• Passionate about development, the web and associated technology
• Ability to work independently & be self-motivated
• Be comfortable working with and adapting existing code
• SEO experience and Social media management
